Faces of Horizon
Owner - Licensed Professional Counselor Katie Engle RN LPC
Before becoming a counselor, I worked as a registered nurse, where I saw firsthand how closely emotional and physical health are connected. That experience shaped the way I approach counseling and led me to pursue a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling.
I especially enjoy working with teens and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, motherhood, relationship challenges, and the pressure of trying to hold everything together. I have advanced training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an approach that can help clients process painful experiences and find relief, often without having to talk through every detail.
My style is warm, honest, and collaborative. I provide a judgment-free space where you can feel understood, strengthen boundaries, work through what is keeping you stuck, and make meaningful changes in your life.
I bring 24 years of experience as a registered nurse, including 14 years working in pediatrics, to my work with clients. My background in healthcare has deeply shaped my belief in caring for the whole person and understanding the strong connection between physical, mental, spiritual, and relational health.
In my work, I focus on helping clients find greater wellness and balance across all of these areas. I especially enjoy working with families, supporting them as they strengthen communication, navigate challenges, and reconnect with one another in meaningful ways.
I also have experience leading workshops for medical professionals on compassion fatigue and secondary trauma. I am passionate about supporting caregivers by offering a safe, understanding space where they can process the emotional demands of caring for others while also learning how to care for themselves.
When requested, I am also happy to incorporate a faith-based perspective into the counseling process.
